Blizzard isn't known to have a track record of Mike D2R Items or me or any other person at the top telling them, "Hey, Blizzard should create a type or game." This is not how Blizzard operates. The way it operates is that an entire team of developers who are extremely passionate about something or a particular genre is given the opportunity to develop and experiment and produce something that we think can be excellent. That's really how it's always beenand is still the way it's going today.
I'm trying find the best way to answer this question without overtly vilifying Activision. So, my question is how do you know if the business realities of the moment, and is your relationship and your parent business, Activision, such that you are able to continue to operate in this manner? Are you Blizzard autonomous enough to declare, "We aren't convinced that this is the best idea, therefore we're going to end it, and we're going to go back with a new idea ... you may not see another game from us in five, ten years or whatever the case may be?' If so, are you currently in a position in which you are able to do that?
There were some questions I had to ask when Mike said, "Hey, you should take a look at this opportunity." There were a handful of questions I had for him , and a couple of questions I asked Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision], and the other staff members in Activision Blizzard. The topic you're addressing is crucial to the meaning of to be Blizzard as a company, from both an engineer's perspective, as well as, frankly an individual and a standpoint of a fan.

We're sitting cheap diablo 2 resurrected items and we are about to see The Diablo League Finals which was really created in conjunction with some of the people from Activision Blizzard, and the determination they've got is similar to the desire that we have, which is to have our games viewed and enjoyed by millions of players across the globe.
