Although it isn't even close to taking over Steam the Smilegate Lost Ark Gold RPG-developed and Amazon-backed MMO "Lost Ark" has also generated some controversy since its North American launch. Another, more significant issue has been brought up concerning the male and female characters in "Lost Ark." The use of gender-specific classes led the game to come under fire from gamers and critics, and has since become very controversial for the public. Outside of certain roles within "Lost Ark" not being gender-neutralized, other players have complained about the game's providing female characters with "revealing" and sexually-suggestive armor especially on characters' selection and menu screens. After the controversy was raised, Amazon Games has released an announcement on how it plans to respond to users' concerns about "LostArk."

Amazon Games' franchise lead Soomin Park has confirmed that "Lost Ark" will make some adjustments to address the issues of players. in an interview to Eurogamer, Park said that while the buy Lost Ark Gold game will still have the original female character's outfit options, additional options will be introduced to counterbalance the more dangerous pieces.
